Investigation continues on suspicious online activity linked to Armstrong school

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is investigating suspicious online activity connected to a high school in Armstrong.

Police said they were alerted March 9 to “concerning online behaviour” directed at students. During the initial investigation, officers arrested an individual who has since been released under strict conditions.

“Situations involving a potential threat to the safety of our schools are treated with the highest priority,” said Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

Terleski said police, School District 83 and partner agencies are working together through a structured risk-assessment process.

“As we continue our investigation, it’s important the community knows school and students are safe, and we are working closely in partnership with School District 83 to ensure their continued safety.”
