Splatsin provides update on Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail

Yucmenlúcwu Civil Construction crews continue to make progress on the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail, with work now focused on completing the final details of the Mara Community Hall parking lot beside the Shuswap River.

“Fence installation is coming along nicely, adding both structure and visual appeal to the site while helping define the space,” said Splatsin in a statement.

On Tuesday, April 7, crews also completed a transition strip between the parking lot and the rail trail. Splatsin said the feature not only creates a clean, finished look, it is designed to improve drainage, reduce weed and grass growth along the fence line and support the long-term durability of the area.

“The Mara Community Hall has been a gathering place for over 100 years, making these improvements a meaningful enhancement for both the community and trail users,” said Splatsin in a statement. “Great to see the attention to detail as this portion of the project comes together.”

Splatsin said it will continue to update the public as the rail trail progresses.
