A man who went missing while paddle boarding at Okanagan Lake last week remains unaccounted for.
The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP told VistaNews on Monday, Sept. 28, that there is no new information since last week.
“Unfortunately, the search area is large, and the water in that location is really deep,” Cpl. Tania Finn of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said.
On Tuesday, Sept. 22, just before 7 p.m., police were notified about a marine incident on Okanagan Lake.
Police said emergency responders were called to assist a man and woman on paddleboards in distress on the water between Fintry Provincial Park and Carr’s Landing.
The woman was rescued from the water by a Kelowna Fire Rescue boat, however, the man was not located.
VSAR personnel were deployed to the area and are continuing to search the water and surrounding area for the missing man.
Police said any new information will be made public.
