City of Vernon invites community organizations to apply for gymnasium and indoor track space in 2027

Looking to book recreational facilities in Vernon?

The City of Vernon is inviting community organizations to submit gymnasium and indoor track booking requests for the January to June 2027 season.

As the Active Living Centre (ALC) approaches operation, expanded indoor recreation capacity will create new opportunities for organizations to access municipal recreation spaces.

The City said that additional rental availability will be offered at the Dogwood and Priest Valley gymnasiums, along with limited access to the gymnasiums and indoor track at the ALC.

“To support fair, consistent, and transparent access to these spaces, the City will use an allocation process similar to the system that has successfully guided arena bookings for many years,” the City said in its announcement.

“While a comprehensive facility allocation policy for all municipal recreation facilities is currently being developed, a draft policy will be used for this intake period.”

Officials add that community organizations that regularly use gymnasium space are encouraged to submit a request for consideration.

Those interested can submit their requests by Nov. 1; however, it does not guarantee a booking. To receive an allocation form, contact the City of Vernon at vernonrec@vernon.ca.
