Vernon’s urban forest renewal at Kin Beach Park set for next week

Kin Beach Park will be closed for a couple of days next week due to a climate resiliency project.

Following a successful grant application to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and the Government of Canada, the Kin Beach Park Tree Replacement Planting Project is now scheduled for installation.

Vernon city council received an administrative update at its April 13 meeting.

For public safety, Kin Beach will be closed from April 20 to April 22 while site preparation and tree planting are completed.

The City of Vernon said the project will enhance long-term park comfort by increasing shade and strengthening climate resilience, reinforcing the city’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
