RCMP Musical Ride cancelled due to wildfires

The RCMP Musical Ride performances scheduled for this weekend at the Armstrong Spallumcheen Fairgrounds have been cancelled because of the wildfire situation in the region.

The Cops for Kids Charitable Foundation announced the cancellation earlier this week, citing wildfire conditions and concerns for the safety of organizers, community members, volunteers and horses.

Three performances had been scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15, and Sunday, Aug. 16. Cops for Kids and the Armstrong Kin Club were hosting the performances, with proceeds intended to support children and families in the region.

Ticket holders will be contacted directly about refunds. They can also donate the value of their tickets to Cops for Kids to help offset costs associated with planning and organizing the performances.

“Cops for Kids and the Armstrong Kin Club extend their sincere appreciation to the RCMP Musical Ride, volunteers, sponsors, community partners and ticket holders for their support and understanding,” the announcement read.
