RDNO launches new public map portal

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) has launched its new public map portal on its website.

Officials said the new application replaces the RDNO’s current map viewer and offers an improved user experience through a modern and reliable mapping platform.

The existing map viewer will remain available to allow for a smoother transition and  help users become familiar with the new system.

As part of this upgrade, the district has adopted ParcelMap BC as its new source for parcel boundary information.

The RDNO described ParcelMap BC as the authoritative provincial parcel fabric and provides the same parcel information used by BC Assessment, local governments, provincial agencies and other organizations throughout the province.

“The new map portal will continue to provide residents, businesses, developers, and other users with access to a variety of property and geographic information through an enhanced and more user-friendly interface,” the RDNO said in its announcement.

Officials emphasized that users should note that limited parcel information will be displayed for properties located within Vernon, therefore users may use the City of Vernon’s mapping resource.
