Lumby Days 2026 art and photo contest theme announced

The annual family fair Lumby Days has announced the theme for this year’s photography and art contest.

“My Canada” is the theme for the art show and photography contest, inviting participants to submit photos of landscapes and wildlife that reflect Canadian culture, community and everyday moments.

For the art show, submissions should reflect what the country means to the artist.

For the photography contest, along with Lumby Days’ regular categories, this year’s competition features two special challenge categories: “Far and Wide” and “Seasons of the North.”

The themes are intended to spark creativity and encourage photographers to see things differently.

The deadline to submit art is June 7 at 4 p.m. Those interested can apply to participate in the art show through the Monashee Arts Council website.

For photos, the deadline to submit is June 10 at 4 p.m.
